I don't normally do these things, but I feel pushed to answer this.
I'm knicking someone elses idea for a top five (I hope, it might be more.), but these are all kinda on the same level.
5. My Chemical Romance in April 2007 (I think) in Simmonscourt Dublin. Ok so the actual gig was shit, but it was important to me, I was so into them at the time. I got right into the MIDDLE of the pit, worst possible place to be, MCR waltza onstage, mass hysteria ensues, I have a panic attack and think I'm dying. A very nice gay boy pushed me right up the front and out over the barrier where I promptly passed out after loosing a shoe. I just remember feeling my heartbeat and thinking 'this is it, my hearts about to stop, I'm going to die.'. I got carted off to the ambulance and they sat me down with a bottle of water. But then Welcome to the Black Parade came on and I fucking legged it outta there and straight back into the crowd. I cried through the entire Black Parade part of the show, the whole thing. But then they came back on as My Chem and I was so fucking happy, like running on high. It was amazing. I would never go to see them again, I lost all respect for them after that show, it was too big, to impersonal, but I still kinda have a soft spot for 'Three Cheers...'
4. HIM in April 2006 at the Ambassador Dublin. My first ever concert, and I went to hell and back to fucking get there. Long story involving us showing up on the wrong day 'cause Linde broke his arm and then when the actuall day rolled around I spent all day crying in bed because Hannahs dad decided she couldn't go (What fucking tool doesn't ask her parents till the night before? fool.). I eventually said fuck it, I'm going on my own. I was in the balcony, on my own, my eyes still stinging from crying all day, and the gig was kinda shit, atmosphere was crap, but it was Ville Valo and it was HIM and I fangirled like crazy. I had loads of recordings on my phone of the gig (I lost the batteries during the openers 'cause I dropped my camera and they fell out). I got to see Linde play Wings Of a Butterfly so I was happy. :) They haven't been back to Ireland since, fucking yanks.
3. Enter Shikari in April 2007 in the Ambassador Dublin. It was the day after MCR, all the same people, all of us in bits from MCR and we just went fucking mental to some bangin tunes. I've seen them three times live, this was the second time, first one in the ambassador, and it was class. the other one was too, they were both amazing.
I can't decide between two for my 1 and 2, they were both amazing for different reasons so
Enter Shikari November 2006 in this tiny club I can't remeber the name of now that I love. It was just after I'd tried to kill myself. me, Hannah, Hugo and Daniel, Emo'ed up to the MAXX. Imagine the scene, 200 angry scene kids and emos crammed into a space that hold 100 normal people, its hot, its sweaty and all we want to do is kick the shit out of eachother.
IT WAS AMAZING. I love Enter's, everyone must see them live once in their lives. This gig was amazing because I know I will never be in an atmosphere like that again, so what if the sound was shit and I had to crawl under the pit and go puke in the bathroom, it was the gig of my younge life.
AND
Apocalyptica in December 2007 in the Ambassador Dublin. This gig was amazing for a very different reason, it is single handedly, hands down, THE best quality gig I have ever been to. The guys were on top form, the production was fab, the sound was PERFECT. Plus, its Apocalyptica. I was there on my own, for a few reason, and I didn't give a shit. Those guys are amazing on stange, I thought the cellos might be a bit goofy, but no way, they were pure SEX, the crowd were did the vocals, and it rocked on for HOURS. We wouldn't let them leave, they literally did four encores, played every song they had, by the end of it the guys and the crowd were all about to die. I've never enjoyed a concert as much as I did that one.
I also met John that night before the gig. So its memorable for a few reasons.
:)
I NEED TO GO TO A CONCERT. PLACEBO YES PLEASE!
